Read Chuck Baldwin’s Acceptance Speech

 David Alan Black

Pastor Chuck Baldwin gave a splendid acceptance speech at the Constitution Party National Convention in Valley Forge, which my wife and I were privileged to attend. Chuck has published a shortened version of his speech at his website, Chuck Baldwin Live. Of equal importance is his webpage called the Bush Record, which tells the truth about so-called Republican “conservatism.”

Chuck ably exposes the myth of neutrality and is clear that the problem stems largely from pastors who are too cowardly to address the sin of statism from their pulpits. Chuck has proven himself a staunch ally of constitutional government. His website adds another voice to those who are seeking to broaden the understanding of Christians as to why and how they can challenge the superficial, glib, and anti-Christian stance of the political culture of Washington.

My wife and I were greatly encouraged by hearing the speeches of Chuck and Michael Peroutka. We heartily applauded them and their vision of a return to the old paths. As a family we are more committed than ever to a return to limited, constitutional government in these United States.

But we must act, and act now.

We must hold those we elect to the promises they make.

We must expose the lies and bigotry of leftist liberalism and Orwellian conservatism.

We must stand for the freedom to educate our children without interference from a godless government that seeks to rule us.

We must actively resist the arrogant courts of the land and reestablish the beauty of a nation of law that was once ours.

We must proclaim No King But Jesus!

The New Testament does not slight in the least these priorities:

“You will be My witnesses….” (Acts 1:8).

“Always be prepared to have an answer for everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:5).

“Be wise in every way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity” (Colossians 4:5).

Let our chief concerns be in harmony with God’s concerns!

Let our philosophy of government be synchronized with His own heart!

Let our burdens reflect His burdens!

Let the church be the church and the state the state!
